1. Agreement to terms
By accessing and using Macedon Ranges Party Hire's services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using our services.
2. Service description
Macedon Ranges Party Hire provides party and event equipment hire — including sound systems, lighting, photo booths, special effects, entertainment, styling and furniture — across the Macedon Ranges and surrounding areas within 50km of Kyneton. Our services include:
- Equipment hire and delivery
- Setup and pack-down
- Customer support during the hire period
- Equipment collection and return
3. Hire requirements
Age and identification
Hirers must be 18 years or older and provide valid photo identification (driver's licence, passport, or proof of age card) at the time of delivery.
Security deposit
A refundable security deposit of $200 is required for all hires. This deposit will be refunded within 5 business days of equipment return, provided the equipment is returned in good condition.
4. Equipment responsibility and replacement costs
The hirer assumes full financial responsibility for hired equipment during the entire hire period, in the event of damage beyond repair, loss, or theft.
Replacement costs
- Equipment replacement: charged at full retail replacement price for the item hired
- Lost booking revenue: up to $2,000 AUD for cancelled future bookings
- Administrative costs: $200 AUD for processing and replacement sourcing
These costs will be charged to the payment method on file. The security deposit does not cover replacement costs — it only covers minor repairs.
5. Prohibited uses
The following uses are strictly prohibited:
- Using equipment in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, storms)
- Submerging or exposing equipment to excessive moisture
- Operating audio equipment at maximum volume for extended periods (over 2 hours continuously)
- Leaving equipment unattended in public areas
- Modifying or attempting to repair equipment
- Using equipment for commercial purposes without prior agreement
6. Cancellation and refund policy
- 48+ hours before delivery
- 100% refund
- 24 – 48 hours before delivery
- 50% refund
- Less than 24 hours
- No refund
7. Limitation of liability
Macedon Ranges Party Hire's liability is limited to the hire fee paid. We are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from equipment use. Hirers assume all risks associated with equipment operation and event success. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Victoria.
